Adelaide Engagement Party Videography: Renee & Jake

What happens when you mix paella, churros and an 1861 colonial castle-esque structure? That’s right. You have no idea. But we did. As did Renee, Jake and company. It was the setting for their engagement party at Carclew House. The Frankie The Creative team of Frankie and Lewis met up with Renee and Jake and instantly hit it off, with beers/wine down Magill way - and there shared tales of adventures abroad, pre-COVID. Remember those times?

Upon what feels like breaching the walls to the fortress that is Carclew, the party spilled its way along the pontoon lights from the main area to the jenga and finska at the front, and we felt immediately immersed in a true festive vibe. We chatted briefly and went straight into a couple portrait photos with the grand structure in the background married with the festivities lighting up the background. We did so to allow them both to enjoy the night without being grabbed out midway through.

The contending factor for this evening’s shoot (both photography and videography) was one of Australia’s most pressing and important events. The event that stops the nation (without causing harm to horses) - the AFL grand final. Renee and Jake had decided, even back when we first met, that they’d lean into it - and have a TV prepped for the big dance, instead of having punters watching it on their phones.

Look - all we can say is holy dooley, what an amazing engagement party - with most of the setting coming from themselves and/or family. The wafting scents of paella and churros *chef’s kiss*. Big props to you both, what an amazing experience we had, and we know the guests had to have had a heck of a time. Thanks for having us along!
