Adelaide Festival Photographer: Illuminate Adelaide 2021
A shining light in the darkest of winters.
Illuminate Adelaide contacted us to photograph the Adelaide festival of light early 2021 but at first, to assist in shaping the models of different instalments - Lot14, Jive car park, Light Square and others. These photos would be used by the digital design teams to map the ebbs and flows of their art.
It was quite funny, within the same period of time, we received an enquiry to photography another light instalment - but for a Tourism Australia ad. And then another light event - a lantern festival at Bridgewater Primary School. We’d become photographers of light.
The initial architectural photography gig turned into a wonderful whirlwind.
However in the COVID world, this turned into something else again. Our beautifully mapped out brief from the incredible Illuminate Adelaide team turned into a fascinating puzzle piece in the period of July and August event restrictions.
But we were still stunned to have the opportunity to shoot Adelaide in all its beauty in an illuminated winter shooting Light Creatures, City Lights, Artist Launch and others.
