Adelaide 40th Birthday Photographer: Michelle’s 40th Birthday
Humid was the weather. Rumoured was the opulent cake. Humoured were the MCs of the soiree.
It was Michelle’s 40th birthday at the Stamford Grand Adelaide!
The tumultuous trek into the hotel allowed appreciation as to why we leave early - the carpark was at capacity during the muggy summer downpour with thanks to La Niña. Fortunately arriving early meant I had time to consider my options. I searched for a carpark within the vicinity - but noted the need for a ticket. I stepped outside the vehicle, then back in very quickly after my fringe polymorphed to a wet rat due to both tepid rain and warm air moisture. I had to retry the hotel carpark - great success - we’re in.
Upon special request, Michelle desired a mini fashion shoot before her event in Stamford Grand’s ballroom. So once appearing in a Manilan couture gown - we were camera in hand, and on the staircase with her mahogany red dress trail fitting right into the space. Negotiating the area with another wedding party photographer - we worked seamlessly - allowing other patrons back and forth through the steamy space.
After completing Michelle’s portraiture - I surveyed the ballroom space - to which Michelle and co had adorned the space with Parisian sets and table decor. It was a throwback for me, having spent 2 months in the Philippines and seeing all over malls and public spaces these photo opportunity spots. As Michelle would know, her guests took a liking to the sets very quickly, snapping up photos in front of them.
The event had it all - dance performances, games about Michelle, speeches, a prayer, group photos - you name it.
