Adelaide Construction Photography: Synergy Unilodge Waymouth Street

Let’s rewind to a couple of months back when we first shut up shop - the middle of March. We all received a check on our lives, a striking review on the way we carry out our day to day activities very quickly. All at once (subjectively in Australia). Working primarily as Adelaide event photographers, our industry received a rocket, with hospitality absolutely rocked to its core. Pretty dire. We’ve attempted to keep pretty high spirits. Although, naturally, we’ve felt the slumps. Running, meditation and Houseparty only goes so far. The crave and need for human touch and feel is a very real condition being felt not only by us, but also by many others. In South Australia, we’re starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That’s not to say that it’s THE light - the normal light we’ve always seen when times are tough. The lifting of restrictions will assist in some kind of β€˜normality’. However, we believe that society won’t return to the way we once knew it. Which isn’t to say that’s a bad thing. The light we’re seeing at the end of the tunnel will be of a different colour. Although, one of the things we know to be true is that buildings will still be built. Which segues kindly to our recent shoot - the Unilodge Waymouth Street Topping Out Ceremony with Synergy Construct. Our first shoot back out of isolation. And Frankie’s careful ascent up a crane.

We must admit that construction photography isn’t a large part of the portfolio of shoots we’ve conducted. Although, we hope they will be from now on. After receiving the call to shoot a β€˜topping out ceremony’, we were left scratching our heads. What exactly is that? Well, it’s the successful completion of the structural phase to a building. The building is now ready to create the shell around this structure.

The building in question is, yes, the new Unilodge Waymouth Street structure. With Adelaide, our blossoming city, with large intakes of regional and international students, apartment buildings are popping up all over. This boom is being coupled with several hotel projects nearing completion with Skycity Adelaide’s EOS, as well as Crowne Plaza Adelaide and Hotel Indigo coming into the market shortly.

But come Monday, a call came informing Frances that on her first day back on the tools that she’d be donning a hard hat, climbing the stairs to sit aloft a crane, to shoot the wonderful crew behind the structural phase of Unilodge Waymouth Street.

If you’re in need of an Adelaide construction photographer, we’re well equipped now to climb up into the seat of a crane, for your topping off ceremony. Let’s chat.
