What’s News With This Crew? May 2022.

How are you going?
I ought to make more of a habit of larger round-ups of what’s news. But alas, we haven’t, so it’s an adhoc adventure into the world of Frankie The Creative. Let’s jump into what we’ve been up to over the past 3 months since we did one of these (okay, quarterly reviews, that’s a thing, we’re going to do that from now). What a whirlwind.

Events are back, baby!
Masks are removed for most settings, close contact rules changed to national guidelines, it’s go time. We’re simply excited to see smiling faces at our events, they photograph so much better - while we also appreciate that some people need and prefer to wear them. And that’s okay, too. Although, sad times, both Frankie and myself caught covid - during a hectic period for us - Adelaide Festival. Mad March became Sad March. On the topic of Mad March…
We photographed Adelaide Festival!
Icehouse, Genesis Owusu, Amyll & The Sniffers, Writers’ Week, the list goes on and on… We called Summerhouse home for a couple weeks - meeting Adelaide Festival’s stellar team. What a vibe. In the pit. Performers performing straight down the barrel of the lens. Oh man - so much fun.
Guest Contract with Crowne Plaza Adelaide
I brief stint back into hotels to help out for what was supposed to be only a 2 week contract to help as Marketing Manager at Crowne Plaza Adelaide. Alas, it was extended, but c’est la vie. Great to see hotels and hospitality bouncing back after covid shut down interstate and international travel. Great to be able to flex my marketing muscles once more, we’ll see what happens in the future, but I love working with Frankie and Frankie The Creative too much.

Canon 70-200mm RF for a some mid to long range conferencing pieces - making zooming between tight portraits of speakers and crowd shots much more easily
Canon 16mm RF for wide imagery - architecture and the like

Upgrading to a Holdfast vegan leather harness for dual shooting
A Smallrig Canon EOS R5 cage setup for video
I’m Back Playing Football
That’s right, another year around the sun, another year playing the beautiful game with Adelaide University Soccer Club. Allez Les Blancs!
Frankie is Watching a lot of Film
We’ve always been big film people since we’ve been together (12 years this year). It’s been a lovely common interest. You can tune in or chill out as much as you like with film, and we tend to tune in and critique. Some great films (tv) we’ve watched recently:
