Melbourne Conference Photographer: Nutrition in Healthcare Conference 2023

I had the opportunity to attend and learn about the Nutrition in Healthcare Conference 2023 hosted by Doctors for Nutrition in Melbourne from February 17-19, 2023. I was fortunate enough to be able to experience the conference through the lens of our own plant-based business Frankie The Creative, photographing the three-day event.

One of the main themes of the conference was the importance of whole food plant-based nutrition in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. This is an area that both Frankie and I are passionate about, and it was inspiring to see experts in the field come together to share their insights and knowledge.

The conference emphasized the importance of healthcare professionals incorporating nutrition education into their practice, and providing patients with the necessary resources to make healthy choices. The conference program included presentations on a variety of topics such as nutrition and chronic disease, plant-based diets, nutrition and mental health, and more. Some of the keynote speakers for the event were Dr Dean Sherzai, Dr Ayesha Sherzai, Dr Michael Greger, Dr Gemma Newman and Dr Alan Desmond.

Another key topic discussed at the conference was the link between nutrition and mental health. Research has shown that a healthy diet can improve mood and reduce the risk of depression and anxiety. This is an area that is gaining more attention and understanding, and it was exciting to see it being discussed at the conference.

As per conference photography, I continued to develop the importance of being adaptable and flexible, aware of the conference schedule and speakers' agendas, and being communicative with event organizers and speakers. Staying present and engaged throughout the conference is also crucial for capturing the energy and essence of the event.

All in all, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to learn about the Nutrition in Healthcare Conference 2023 through Frankie's stunning photography. It was inspiring to see experts in the field come together to discuss the latest research and trends in nutrition and healthcare. I look forward to continuing to learn and stay up-to-date on this important topic.

As a conference photographer at a plant-based event, I would probably feel a little out of place with my meaty Lightroom fingers and software brain. But hey, at least I can appreciate the beauty of a perfectly-arranged salad shot!

As a vegan conference photographer at a plant-based event, I sometimes feel like a tofu dish at a barbecue - a little out of place and not quite what everyone is expecting. I had an attendee come up to me and with a whince on her face, ask “you’re not plant-based, are you?” To which I responded with a “yeah, of course!” But hey, at least I'm healthy and eco-friendly, just like the plant-based diet!
