Adelaide Festival Photographer - Womadelaide 2023

Womadelaide has come and gone, but the memories and moments that we were lucky enough to have captured will live on forever. As one of the official photographers for the four-day event, I, Frankie, had the opportunity to capture the magic and energy of one of Australia's most beloved music festivals. The brief? “Shoot the event through your eyes” and that’s exactly what I did.

Over the course of the festival, I moved from stage to stage, capturing the incredible performances of local and international musicians. From the soulful sounds of African drumming to the electrifying beats of modern dance music, ensuring our photos told the story of the diverse range of artists who graced the stages at Womad Adelaide.

But it wasn't just the music that made the festival so special. I also made sure to capture the vibrant atmosphere of the festival, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate their shared love of music and culture.

One of my favourite aspects of Womad has to be golden hour in the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, and you can probably see why in the first photo in the gallery below. Just look at those colours! Absolute magic. The downfalls? None. Okay, maybe one. It has to be the blisters. So many blisters. I mean, 4 days spread out over the entire botanic gardens. Am I right?

Thank you Womad for having me. It was an absolute honour to be your photographer for the festival. Until next year!

If you're interested in having us capture your festival or solo act, we’ve got the bandaids ready for some heavy foot action. Reach out - we’re already down for it.
